With a global service launching of Inmarsat 4, our Maritime Satellite Communication Seminar in Pusan on April 6th, 2009 was successful. Hosted by Inmarsat and Arion Communication Co., Ltd., more than 100 audiences include shipping companies, managements, radio service companies and maritime communication department of military government were all watching the introduction of up-to-date maritime satellite communication service and its technical tendency.

The seminar started with an opening speech by Rob Henry(Inmarsat Manager), and Inmarsat Solution Team(Presenter: Sandro Delucia) introduced the ‘Changes after I-4 Satellite Launching and the Next Generation IP based FleetBroadBand’. And there was a FleetBroadband One year experience and overview time that made attenders to learn not hardware aspects of equipment and each service function, but efficient usage method on the basis of 1 year experience. And Value Added Services such as, AmosConnect version 8 for Maritime Email Program and Anti-Virus were presented also.

FleetBroadBand 250 and 500 were displayed in the seminar room and the audiences were given an opportunity to operate the FleetBroadband 250 for demonstration. There were Sailor TT-3000LRIT, Satamatics SAT-201i for LRIT and a Satellite terminal for land(BGAN) as well, and VMS(Vessel Monitoring System) which is vessel position tracking service developed by Arion was also presented.

This event not only presented remote connection/control system which gives advanced service than existing simple communication and how the innovative IP based FleetBroadBand such as Intranet and internet is being used in various fields, but also was the first domestic technical seminal held by Inmarsat. Therefore this seminar gives us huge import.
